Antony Seymour (Lead Auditor) with Notedome CEO (Gordon Alderley)
Antony Seymour is a Quality and Laboratory Technician at Notedome and has recently qualified as ‘Lead Auditor’ having completed and passed the “CQI and IRCA 1SO 9001 Lead Auditor” training course run by NQA Training.
Notedome take ‘Quality’, ‘Consistency’ and ‘Product Improvement’ very seriously, and the success of their quality management system is due to diligence by every member of staff at Notedome, and as Antony comments “Quality (in Notedome) can’t be achieved by one person -it is a team effort”.
Notedome operates within ISO 9001 standards and Antony’s duties now include carrying-out internal audits and managing the QMS (Quality Management System) - adapting it where necessary to promote continual improvement and consistent results, ensuring the quality system conforms to customer specification, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
Having completed a ‘Lead Auditor’ course means Antony has the knowledge to audit a supplier (should it be necessary), and he has also gained a greater understanding of the needs and functions of the QMS standard. The procedures follow the PDCA Cycle (Plan, Do, Check, Act) so each function within the business needs monitoring for effectiveness and adjusting if necessary.
The ‘Lead Auditor Training’ course was held over five days and contained theoretical and practical elements of auditing to the ISO 9001:2015 standard for Quality Management Systems, plus there were additional days for pre-course preparation and homework, followed by a final exam.
Usually classroom-based, these training sessions were via video-link to the candidates and provided social distancing for the candidates from differing organisations.
NQA are a global certification body and training provider - the ‘Lead Auditor’ is a globally recognised CQI (Chartered Quality Institute) and IRCA (International Register of Certified Auditors) course.
